Zen Monkey - Red Shanked Douc
Zen Monkey - Red Shanked Douc
Share
The red-shanked douc (Pygathrix nemaeus) is a species of Old World monkey, among the most colourful of all primates. It is an arboreal and diurnal monkey that eats and sleeps in the trees of the Vietnamese forest. It is considered critically endangered.
In addition to drawing attention to this unique primate's conservation status, I was very drawn to its zen-like pose and brilliant colour and just had to paint it.

This is an original acrylic artwork on birch board, 40cm x 40cm x 2cm, with black edges and ready to hang.
In my opinion, it does not require a frame. However, framing can be arranged for a fee, on request.
