Commission a painting
One-of-a-kind artworks, created just for you.
I take on a limited number of commissions each year, working closely with clients to create custom artworks in my signature style.
This form helps me understand your idea so we can start a conversation.
Is a commission right for you?
Commissions work best when you love my existing work and want a piece created in a similar spirit.
People often commission a painting to:
- Mark a milestone or life transition
- Honour a person, memory, or story
- Create a statement piece for a specific space
- Gift something deeply personal
If you’re unsure, that’s okay. The process begins with a conversation.

The Commission Process
Frequently Asked Questions
Timing, pricing and availability
Most commissions take between four and eight weeks, depending on size, complexity, and current availability.
Commissioned artworks are typically priced higher than comparable existing works. This reflects the additional consultation, custom development, and dedicated time involved.
I price commissions individually and take on a small number each year. Pricing reflects the scale of the work and the level of collaboration involved, and most pieces sit in the four-figure range. I’m always happy to let you know early whether an idea is likely to be a good fit.
I’ll always be upfront about pricing once I understand the brief, so you can decide whether to proceed without pressure.
Subjects & style
I work best with figurative subjects, portraits, birds, and nature-inspired themes, often layered with floral elements and texture.
I don’t accept commissions that fall outside my style or comfort zone. If your idea isn’t a good fit, I’ll let you know honestly and, where possible, suggest alternatives.
Deposits & commitment
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission. This covers materials and time allocated to your project.
Because commissioned artworks are created specifically for you, they can’t be returned or refunded once work has begun.
