Suspended somewhere between thought and dream, Lucid Dreaming captures a moment of uncertainty and introspection.
The central figure appears submerged in blue, eyes closed and biting her lip as though caught in the middle of a difficult thought or decision. Around her, three translucent jellyfish drift through the composition, representing thoughts and emotions that surface, disappear and return when the mind refuses to be still.
Abstract marks and shifting layers of colour add to the dreamlike quality of the work, blurring the boundary between the figure's physical surroundings and her internal world.
There is a quietness to Lucid Dreaming, but also tension: that familiar experience of disappearing into your own head while trying to make sense of what comes next.
