Just A Joker

To be honest, I'm not a comic book fan but I was really moved by the backstory of The Joker. Although the movie was based on a graphic novel and not the actual DC comics I thought it portrayed the psyche of the Batman villain really powerfully. Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job and I hope I did his likeness justice!

This painting is primarily acrylic but details have been accentuated with Posca marker.

The main subject has been highlighted to give a pop art feel which is further enhanced by the abstract background picking up colours from his make-up.

I'd love to see him homed by a fan. It's a striking piece and a talking point.
