Hello Possums - Original Dame Edna Portrait

Impossible to ignore and never knowingly understated, Hello Possums is my portrait of Dame Edna Everage in all her flamboyant glory.

Bold colour, expressive marks and metallic foil build around that unmistakable face, celebrating the theatrical excess, humour and larger-than-life personality that made Dame Edna such an enduring Australian cultural icon.

The combination of acrylic, ink, Posca marker and reflective metallic details gives the surface plenty to discover up close. The metallic elements shift with the light, while the strong colour and graphic composition give the painting impact from across the room.
