Garry is a portrait of a Gang-gang Cockatoo, one of Australia's most distinctive native birds and a species increasingly affected by habitat loss along the east coast.

Painted with layered texture and fine detail, his charcoal-grey plumage is offset by a vivid crimson crest. Soft drips and restrained abstraction in the background give the work a contemporary edge while keeping the focus on character and presence.
