Thanks to state-wide media buzz and cheeky “Where’s Wally?” headlines, he was recovered a week later and now delights visitors in the Cardiology waiting area of Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Wally is not just a pretty bird—he’s a conversation starter! Galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla) are synonymous with Australia, known for their vibrant pink and grey plumage and lively antics. They’re also a part of Aussie slang, where “galah” affectionately refers to a lovable fool or clown—a nod to their bright colors and playful behavior.
