The painting depicts a male panther chameleon in all its glory, moving slowly down a mossy branch towards to viewer.

The chameleon's symbolic meaning is to change colour according to its mood, its mimicry allows it to blend into its environment if it senses danger... so the chameleon animal totem has the power to not "make waves"... by adapting....

The chameleon animal is very benevolent and familiar.

It blends in with its environment because it is above all a shadowy, invisible and concealing animal. Unlike the snake that seeks the sun, the chameleon is a solar animal that aspires to remain in the shade.

The chameleon has a prehensile tail, a sign of skill; its moving eye is in turn a symbol of caution and knowledge.

Chameleon colour meaning is known. This ability is due to the presence of chromatophores, skin cells with coloured pigments. There are four types: black, blue, red and yellow. Chameleons thus indicate their state to their fellow chameleons: stress, courtship, gestation, illness, temperature, and submission.

In Africa the term used for this animal is wisdom.

This reproduction fine art print looks amazing with a floating timber frame which will bring out the warmth in his colours. It is an amazingly striking feature piece that deserves space on its own. The print background is almost black, the original was a dark green - but the black is striking.

The original piece has more contrast and it was photographed without varnish and in not ideal lighting situations. Please be advised colours may also differ depending on the device you are viewing this from.

The original 122cm x 92cm x 3.8cm painting was sadly damaged I have included the option for a reproduction of this size, but I have also decided to list a slightly smaller option (102cm x 76cm x 3.8cm) in two styles (including a framed option). The exquisite details of the original make even this slightly smaller size a statement in any room.
