Supporting Australian Charities

"Original artwork is a luxury item & you are purchasing a one-of-a-kind piece of craftmanship. Original art is an investment & has value. It has taken the artist years to hone their craft & develop their skills. When you are buying original artwork you are buying this time, in addition to some of the heart & soul of the artist."

-- Kelly Batsiokis

Art inspires connection & conversation

The viewer's interpretation may be very different to the message intended by the artist, but the fluidity of that message inspires conversation and a sense of connection. Does the artwork evoke a feeling or memory? Was the memory positive or negative? This appreciation can be cathartic, healing & powerful.

The story-telling power of art also makes it perfect for drawing awareness to causes. Wildlife & human portraiture lends itself to wildlife conservation & health promotion/social-justice causes.

Over the past four years, I have supported a number of Australian charities through artwork donations for fundraising auctions, or donation of artwork profits.

Having worked in the non-profit sector for many years, I can appreciate the challenge of awareness-raising to promote behaviour change.

Are you an Australian charity with an upcoming fundraising event?

Maybe you are a business that would like to give back to the community & raise funds for a charity that supports your vision and values?

LETS HAVE A DISCUSSION

Fundraising opportunties include:

Artwork donation

Artwork donation for auction/ raffles (this may involve donation of fine art reproduction prints) as a single item in exchange for promotion of the artist.

Partnership opportunities

Part proceeds of reproduction print sales, or a portion of profits of selected artworks are donated to your charity in exchange for marketing promotion.

Wall space in a public space & associated social media promotion

The charity receives a commission on artwork sales.

Children's workshop at charity's venue

A body of work is created for the charity & the children learn about your cause. Tickets would cover materials and my costs, but you'd get a lovely blog or newsletter post with some amazing artwork in return and some young advocates.

Please note my insurance only covers workshops with up to 10 participants.

Charity representatives as invited guests to promote their charity at an art exhibit held by the artist

A solo or as a group exhibit is possible, with associated cross promotion through our networks.

Exhibition event at your venue organised as part of a major fundraiser

A body of work is created through interview & a consultation process & part proceeds of all art sales (or full proceeds of one feature piece) are donated to the charity. Those that were interviewed could be invited as guest speakers. Prints could then be made for ongoing promotion with an associated licencing arrangement.
